Update

So I know I have not been keeping up with this thing but I figure that no one really reads it so why bother with it. So if anyone does read this then here is a bit of an update of my crazy life. First of all I just wanted to say that graduation is literally around the courner. I am just so excited to be done with school finally. After school is the next major question. I am not sure what is going to happen just yet. Yes it makes me juat a tad bit nervous but I know that something will work out and that the Lord will provide me with something.

The second thing that has taken place is the loss of my father. It was such a sudden thing and my mom and I are still reeling from the fact that we are now without him. We aren't really sure what exactly happened but we have a pretty good guess that he died of a silent heart attack. Other factors could have played into it like stress of work. The biggest blessing that we can think of that he did not suffer in the slightest. He just went to bed and then that was where Mom found him about an hour later.

This is also Thanksgiving. This is the time of year when everyone in the world goes into a tailspin and goes out of control getting everything ready for Chirstmas. Wow. It is just amazing on how the year speeds by so fast and you realize that you didn't even see it comin. Sometimes in my opinion the holiday season hits you like a freight train. I am just hoping that if you are reading this that you have a very special and blessed holiday season. Don't spin too far out of control. My wish for you is that you tell everyone that you love that you love them so that they will always know and you will never be in doubt. I love you all and Happy Holidays!!!!

Until next time.....

Hurricane Ike

OK so I am sitting here in an Emergency Shelter being provided on SHSU campus for 49 students and 5 staff from University of Houston Clear Lake campus. I will just have to say that being here and seeing everything unfolding it has rather been a humbling experience. Not so much by the hurricane in general but that is nothing to sneeze at at all, but just the fact that the vast majority of these students have NEVER seen a hurricane or know what one is. These students are mostly from India and other foreign exchange students. WOW! It has been really interesting to sit and listen and watch them interact with each other.

Although I will have to say that Huntsville, as far as I can see at this point, is not every far at all.....has held up quite well. All I know is that we have power and everyone has been in rather good spirits about it all. Had a few stressed out people and nerves but other than that nothing really all that major.

I am seriously ready for this to be over and so that life can get back to "normal"! Whatever that means...

Off to take care of everyone!

WOW!

Ok so here's a little peek into what has been going on in my crazy world. Let's start at the beginning...which is a great place to begin. Christmas break. I know what you are thinking and yea that was a long time ago but that is when it all starts. Over the holiday I decided that I was going to take a mini-mester at Houston Community College. Well the only class that I wanted to take or could take was college algebra. I know what you are thinking and I must be insane for even considering it. I signed up and took the course out at the Westgate campus in Katy. It wasn't all that bad. I went to school from 9-12 M-F. We got Christmas Day and New Years Day off. So the course only lasted about 3-4 weeks. Not that bad. I pulled of a B for the course!!! YEA!!!!!

Ok so then came the begining of the Spring semester! I am really excited about this semester. I am taking 19 hours, and I am excited to get some of my favorite professors. I am a little worried about my Senior Seminar class though. The class is only a 10 page paper and a class presentation of the paper. NOTHING ELSE!!! =0 I just pray that I get everything done and I pass everything!

OK so now we are at the present.....thankfully. I am a dance minor and as a major/minor with dance, a requirement is that you have to take a class that is for the technical side of theater....crew or DNC 110. So this is my last semester in crew and I couldn't be happier. Anyway, I have been assigned to work on the first two concerts that the department is putting on. Both of them are graduate thesis concerts. I have been assigned/appointed to be the Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) for both of them. I am really excited that they have given me this opportunity but the nasty side of this is that I have to put my organizational life on hold.

UGH, I can't do my martial arts, or my peer education group. The worst part about this is that I can't do ANYTHING with Phi Lamb!!! I am absolutly so sad that I just want to cry. Phi Lamb is having its 20 year anniversary and I CAN'T GO!!!!!!! That just makes me sick. I am the alumni chair and I was all excited to help out with the event and......

So that is a litle peek into my world. If you are bored and want to say hello just drop me a line!! Have a great weekend and sorry for the long post. Guess I had to get it all out....I feel better though!!!!

Until our paths cross again my friends. May HIS hands guide and hold you and yours as you go about your daily lives. May HIS feel walk beside you and be a lamp on your path guiding you where to go.

Love ya always,
Elke
